Xan'tos

The Xan'tos is an Ashderian combat frigate currently serving the Ashderian Regime under the First Fleet. The vessel typically serves the role of augmenting the firepower of the Aquilae's flotilla in the First Fleet.

Tactical Implementation

The Xan'tos is a heavily armed frigate designed specifically to kill other large vessels. It's often used to dispatch oppressive firepower upon enemy forces in fleet scenarios, but is more than capable of one-on-one duels with other large capital ships. The vessel places a heavy emphasis on on-board weaponry, not having a traditional hangar and deployment facilities for fighters, bombers or small cruisers.

Technical Data

The Xan'tos's emphasis on ship-killing has had it armed with enhanced Skreeon-cannons, various Firewasp-launcher emplacements, a higher-than-average numbers of torpedo tubes and missile batteries, and massive internal magazines. Plans to arm the ship with heavy Skreeon beam weaponry similar to the Aquilae's are being entertained, but have not come to fruition. The vessel is noticeably smaller than the Aquilae, but is still much larger than what is considered average for destroyers or dreadnoughts. The vessel isn't nearly as maneuverable as most Ashderian vessels, but possesses good acceleration and speed capabilities for a vessel of its size.
