A Biological Artificial Intelligence (shortened to Bio-AI almost without fail) is a sapient computer with biological components integrated into any part of its structure; the very existence of a Bio-AI straddles the line between sapio-organic and sapio-synthetic. More often than not, the organic component of a Bio-AI is an organic brain serving as the central processing unit. Many Bio-AIs started life as an organism, but had their consciousness transferred into an AI construct (as in the case of Symphoda).
