The Red Marauders are a faction of space pirates who originated from Moirai as escapees. They are currently headed by Grand Commandant O'Malley.

History

Commandeering of the Ixis Station

During their escape, the Marauders attacked and subsequently captured the Ixis reseach station. Using the experimental Einstein-Rosen-Veil Bridge built into the facility, they attempted a blind jump which resulted in several transport craft being ablated into the Veil. While in FTL, the Marauders purged the station's non-essential staff and finished clearing pockets of resistance deeper in the asteroid. Emerging with command of the station and a smaller fleet than expected, O'Malley then made a second jump to arrive near the Omega Nebula. From there, the Marauders began to launch hit and run attacks on trade vessels.
