Ashderian
The Ashderians are a sapient species of bipedal, tetrabrachial space-faring organisms with vaguely amphibian characteristics.
History
The Ashderians had their largest impact on history in the form of the Currai Imperium, a brutal regime that once held an entire arm of the Milky Way Galaxy through slavery and genocide. The Enlightened Ones, who would go on to form the Vokyran Ascendancy, successfully toppled the Imperium with the assistance of their allies in the Vigilant and established themselves on Voyakarai. After the Tyriit sundered Voyakarai in 895 PRE, the Ascendancy would reform into the Ashderian Regime, shifting the primary Ashderian presence in the Milky Way to High K'Kero, a clandestine space-bound super-habitat in a hidden star system. Most Ashderians in contemporary times belong to either the Ashderian Regime or the Vigilant, both Syndicate powers.
Physiology & Appearance
Subspecies
Through bio-forming and advanced genetic manipulation, the Ashderian race has seen multiple subspecies created. Currently, only a few are commonly found in galaxy. Many modern Ashderians are mixed breeds, there are a few contemporary examples of individuals with no admixture; either from pure-blood lines or genetic-reversion. The known subspecies are as listed:

Subspecies 7
This subspecies was designed for harsh environments and combat. They are known to be ultra-aggressive and are a fusion between synthetic and organic elements; essentially cyborgs. Notable features include metallic bone-structures, fundamental nanite integration, and many times, Veil manipulation implants. Their aggression, strength, and resiliency resulted in a particularly volatile subspecies of Ashderian. This subspecies is extinct, and the genetic profiles associated with them are highly classified. This is one of a the few subspecies where subspecies-conversion is almost completely impossible, due to the extensive physical differences between standard subspecies, and this one.
Subspecies-Conversion
Thanks to extremely advanced medical technology, it is possible for an individual to "change their race" at the expense of time and great sums of money. Inter-conversion is possible between most subspecies and features, though there are some, like Subspecies 7, where it is generally considered not possible. The subspecies-conversion industry is heavily regulated by the Vokyran Ascendancy, and there are many rules and regulations stipulating when and how this can be done.

- The name "Ashderian" shares linguistic similarities with the parent species who designed them, the Oshdur. This is because, when translated, the names share root words.
