Corruption lore and how it affects the Ghost Fleet

This concept was created with the nanite version of the Corruption in mind. However, the good news is that if we decide to go with a biological/classic Corruption type, or something else, I believe the concept will still work. It shouldn't be too hard to divine an explanation. I can think of several off the top of my head.
