Longship is a catch-all term used to describe any vessel used by the Spears of the Aesir for habitation and raiding. All known longships are Dragonhunter-model destroyer ships, leading to the Dragonhunter being given the misnomer "longship."

Usage

Longships are the backbone of the Spears of Aesir. Each longship acts as a home to roughly one-thousand raiders, who eat, sleep, train, live, and sometimes die in them. A Jarl presides over a longship, acting as its captain. The Jarl reports back to the King--currently and since the formation of the Spears, Hromund the Unsparing. Aside from serving as homes, the longships are, obviously, used to attack other vessels, conduct raids, provide transport, and are even used as battering rams.
