Prime Ancestors
The Prime Ancestors were a multi-system culture predating the Ilanians, having disappeared long before their evolution and rise to dominance. They have unknown features and are noted for creating Line Installations, Resonance Gates, and the framework for Dräk's Central District.
Disappearance
The Ancestors disappeared in an event known as the Ignition, as a consequence of tampering too greatly with the Veil of Webs.
Legacy
Many Ilanian scientists not devoted to the effort of territorial expansion are focused on unlocking the secrets of their cryptic precursors, but are making little headway. The reactivation of Ancestral installations is so far unexplained, with some hypothesizing that the Ancilla are contributing despite the Directive of Obfuscation. Much of modern Ilanian technology is based on the work of Ancestor researchers.
