Nymerris

Nymerris is an elementary particle prized by the Empire of Namine for its practical use in weapons. In its weaponized form, Nymerris is colloquially referred to as Pulse energy or Pulse particles. Firestorm utilizes Nymerris particles in the Pulse Rifle, which is often considered the epitome of weaponized Nymerris.

Scientific Data

Currently, little is known of Nymerris. As for what is known: it occurs in nebulae (and, presumably, from other sources); it has an extremely destructive nature and flammable tendencies--the latter of which is prominently notable in the Pulse Immolator; the particle itself, at least when integrated into an EPD-platform weapon, gives off a red hue and glows luminously.

History

It is unknown when Nymerris was discovered by the Keilicaela or even when they started weaponizing it; however, given that the basis of much Keilicaela technology is founded upon technologies originally developed by Namine's precursor civilization, it is possible (though not confirmed) that the Keilicaela adapted it from the weaponry of that fallen civilization. If it is true that this culture used Nymerris weaponry, the Keilicaela, through Firestorm, refined the technique of weaponizing the particle to an extent that exponentially dwarfs the now-primitive techniques of this lost civilization.

Although weaponized Nymerris may have existed since before the Keilicaela attained sapience, the Pulse Rifle itself was not realized until some time after the rise of the First Empire of Namine; Firestorm was founded under this Empire and therefore the Pulse Rifle could not have been devised before the Empire's fruition.

After the Colony Craze, Firestorm established a collection station within the Sky of Pillars, a nebula rich with Nymerris.
