The Esperance Pact is a space-faring human civilization originating form Earth, now residing upon Moirai. The Pact is a parliamentary democracy with multiple planets and installations ruled over as jurisdictions.

History

Around the year 911 PRE, the influential nations of Earth's eastern hemisphere (including Russia, India, and Australia) signed an intergovernmental treaty in the name of space exploration and colonization. This was spurred by the advances made by discovering Currai Imperium technology, and the result was the Esperance Pact, named for the Australian city of Esperance, where the treaty was signed.

As the conditions on Earth continued to deteriorate, the originating countries looked to the stars for their continued survival and prosperity. With the discovery of Moirai in the Hellion Star System in 918 PRE, the Esperance Pact joint space program would begin colonization efforts in the stars, and would eventually supplant these nations as the dominant government.

Once Moirai and the Hellion System were discovered, a period of explosive growth for the Esperance Pact began, and would continue until the Gray Storm in 949 PRE.
