History

The Seething Sting was founded in 67 RE, making it nearly as old as the Empire of Namine itself. Though the organization was able to trace its roots to the Imperial city of Thutria, it operated without Imperial sanction and was considered a terrorist organization for its entire existence. Their most notorious act was the 113 PRE assassination of Zyrexis Scendtherinae, first Supreme Commander of the Empire of Namine and direct successor of Ferkanid Trinalak. In spite of this, the organization was not doctrinally or dogmatically anti-Imperial; they accepted many assassination contracts bid to them by Imperial politicians who had need of clandestine liquidation services. Future Imperial Phantom Thisposa was brought into the organization's fold in 920 PRE. After an ancient legacy spanning 1,453 years, the Seething Sting would collapse in 947 PRE, with many of its displaced members going on to form the Lethal Sepulcher.
