The Seething Sting dealt in taking care of crime mainly within the city of Thutria. As the Keilicaela species grew, so did the Seething Sting; they soon had a facility in every known major city, and snuffed out corrupt politicians, serial killers, grand thieves, and other assorted undesirables. As the organization expanded, opportunistic sects would rise. These sects called for the clan to turn into a contract-based assassination group; "the Seething Sting will eliminate anyone for the right price," it was proposed.

However, those loyal to the initial cause detested the new model, causing much debate in how the group was to be run. Eventually, it was decided that the Seething Sting would be split into two groups: those who carried on with vigilantism, and those who killed for pay; however, the latter must send their contracts to the former so that they may be approved. If the contracts were deemed in opposition to the organization's tenets, as a fair deal of them were, they were rejected and forbidden from being carried out.

Disbandment
In spite of the growing conflict within the organization, the Seething Sting would endure well into the The Post-Reformation Epoch, as Thisposa was recorded being brought into the fold in 933 PRE, making the order positively ancient. It would, however, crumble with the Fall of Namine in 949 PRE.

The Seething Sting was an infamous group of Keilicaela assassins.

History

The Seething Sting was founded in 67 RE, making it nearly as old as the Empire of Namine itself. Though the organization was able to trace its roots to the Imperial city of Thutria, it operated without Imperial sanction and was considered a terrorist organization for its entire existence. Their most notorious act was the [113 PRE assassination of Zyrexis Scendtherinae, first Supreme Commander of the Empire of Namine and direct successor of Ferkanid Trinalak. In spite of this, the organization was not doctrinally or dogmatically anti-Imperial; they accepted many assassination contracts bid to them by Imperial politicians who had need of clandestine liquidation services. Future Imperial Phantom Thisposa was brought into the organization's fold in 920 PRE. After an ancient legacy spanning 1,453 years, the Seething Sting would collapse in 947 PRE, with many of its displaced members going on to form the Lethal Sepulcher.
