Vespid Heterodonyx, a former AI programmer, is considered by many to be Unbroken's main character. He is the current Supreme Commander of the Waspcaela Empire.

Appearance
Like most Waspcaela, Vespid does not belong exclusively or wholly to one particular subspecies; rather, he is a mixed breed. His large 8-foot-tall height suggests that he is part Aen-Keilicaela, while his exoskeleton's green hue is a trait possessed by Chi-Keilicaela.
Vespid bears a large scar on his right forearm where a Corruption Ravenger clamped its six-pronged mandibles down. He is also rarely seen without his Adaptive Combat Harness equipped.
Trivia
- Vespid has a clinical addiction to Twinkies.
- As a running gag, a majority of walls Vespid leans against fall over. As such, he is not a huge fan of leaning against things, often pressing against an object with his hand to test its stability before doing so.
